There was no email on Christmas day, but we did get to see Sister Moss and all her beauty and spunk on a Skype call!

Transfers - New Area
We had transfers today and my area (cidade nova) got closed for sisters,
so I've been transferred. Still need to work everything out with my new
companion and my new ward. Hopefully I will get to talk to all of you
guys at the same time!
Speaking of transfers, I am now in Alecrim with sister Sosa. we are opening this area. should be super good! I'm super nervous because I have more time in the mission than she does which means I am the senior companion! senior companion for the first time and opening a new area. it's a lot to handle! but I think it will be good for me and for the people here. I am super super excited for this transfer!!
Not sure if I'll have time to write a super good group email, we're a little crazy here today being pday and transfers all at the same time. we have to get everything out of our house today. hopefully we get it all done haha.
Love, Sister Moss

Oiiii dear friends and dear family !! So this week was full of changes, Maxwell and miracles!
First! the changes! So on Wednesday I had a split with Sister Bradshaw. She's from Florida and this is her first transfer! Big change for me, to have a mate with less time than me. I was very scared about this division, I felt very inadequate. But that day I received a blessing from President Colleoni (because of my fear). And this blessing really helped me a lot! Division was great !!! Generally (more recently) I am too afraid to talk to people and invite them to be baptized. But in the division with Sister Bradshaw, we got some good contacts and we had some good lessons. And with these lessons we were able to invite 4 people to be baptized !!! Everyone accepted baptism on December 17th. Unfortunately only one person went to church this week, and now we need to reschedule the other baptisms by the 24th! But it will be all right!
Now, Maxwell. We were also teaching Maxwell, the boy at the age of fourteen. He is elected with force !!! Maxwell, we'll find you 2 weeks ago closing standard Sunday night. He was the last person we talked to. Invite them to church, and mark a day of coming back and teaching. Very short, he fulfilled all the commitments, went to seminary alone and really is an elected! Saturday we went to his house and we got there and realized that he had painted his blond hair !! BLOND!!!! Hail Mary, this boy is crazy! Dear Sister N. Souza almost killed him! This is not the same person we were teaching!
But the MIRACLE, we had his baptism yesterday! Dude it was great !!! A new convert named Maxwell and he forgot to cover his nose before he emerged into the water. And Maxwell almost fell! lol it was too funny! I am very happy for him and his decision to be baptized! He loves church and has already told us that he wants to be a missionary too! Dear folks, he's too good! Very cool! And another miracle we had, that another researcher went by church yesterday too! We did not think he would but a surprise for us, he was! I hope he will be baptized this week or next! See you, right?
Dude the week was great! And I know that this is Christ's church, that He is the head of it! That He is our Savior and is always with us! I am very happy to be an instrument in his hands on this job! "It's God's work.I'm like a ... pencil in his hand .... He does the thinking. He does the writing. The pencil has nothing to do with it.The pencil should only be used.
Love you so much!!!! Good week for everyone !!!
With love and affection,
Sister Moss
oiiii mamãe!!!!
--My health is good, I went back to the doctor for my ear and he explained that I need surgery, but its not urgent. He said dont worry too much about it. Its because the bone for my ear is supposed to have spots to allow air in and out but its just bone. Donts have the space or spots for air to enter. so it needs to be repaired. But its not urgent dont need surgery right now! It can wait! -- trading clothes is super normal. I've left some of my clothes that are super big in other houses so other sisters can use them or give them to recent converts. I think I have one dress that I bought and all the others I traded with sisters.
Primeiramente!
as mudanças!
... Ele faz o pensamento. Ele faz a escrita.

Sister Moss's letter to Mom...
oiiii mamãe!!!!
caramba!!!
HUMP DAY ALREADY???? No I dont believe it, not a single bit!!! Oh man,
this is crazy to say and to think that I have 9 months here in Brazil
and only 8 months until I get to hug you and never let go again!!! Super
excited to see you here in 2 weeks! That should get me through until
Mothers day, and than until you're here in Brazil with me!!!! Man oh man
I dont believe this!!!
Maiya
is 3????? Man I forgot her birthday!!!! que freaking!!! give her loves
for me please!! and i saw the video, man she is too perfect!!!!
Dont
think my packages have arrived yet, but I dont know. Generally they
dont contact us if we have something. its kind of just a surprise when
we show up at the mission office haha!
So
we do lots of small meals for dinner. Or sometimes we dont eat dinner.
Generally throughout the day recent converts give us food, they love to
feed us. So when we get home we aren't super hungry haha. Dont worry I'm
eating tons!! No no one comes monthly to see our house. usually if
something is wrong we tell Sister Colleoni and she takes care of it
within the week. Shes amazing!! There's not a whole lot of american food
here in the stores. Basically just spaghetti or chicken haha.
This
week was super good!! We had a BAPTISM!!! Cara, it was perfect!! He is
such a great kid and will do so many great things in the church. He
already says he wants to go on a mission!! Man super happy for him!!
Also, the fears and troubles I was having I feel like have gone away. We
had splits this week and I got put with Sister Bradshaw, shes from
Florida and this is her first transfer. I really didnt have a choice but
to grow up and get over my fears this day working with her. Because I
speak more portuguese than she does and things like that so it was
basically a day to grow up and get over the little things! The day with
Sister Bradshaw went super well! we made some good contacts, good
lessons and in the end of it all we invited 4 people to be baptized and
everyone accepted!!!! Super super excited!! hopefully they continue to
progress and have the desire to be baptized into the only true church on
earth and enter into the straight and narrow path home! Super excited
to see how this week turns out, see if we will have another baptism this
week!!!
I promise you mommy, I love this work and enjoy it more and more everyday!!!
Love you so so much!!!

A Mission is not Easy, but It's Totally Worth It!
Hey y'all!! so this week I wanted to write só in english. I will do my
best but as vezes I throw some portugues in there, as you can tell
already! Just bear with me okay?
But really quick I want to update you all on the work here!
So
first off, we're working a lot more with the youth it seems like. We
have the most amazing investigator "M". He is 14 years old and is
literally the best investigator I've ever seen! He does everything we
ask him to do in order to progress and be ready for his baptism this
week! First off, we met him 2 weeks ago on Sunday night when we were
rushing to meet the goals of the week. He was one of the last people we
talked to before returning home. Tuesday we went and taught him the
first lesson (the Restoration). and when we finished explaining that he
needs to be baptized by someone with the right authority (priesthood) he
basically asked if he could be baptized this week (yesterday). we
explained that there was a process to these things and marked his
baptism for this week! Guys it gets better!! We went back and invited
him to seminary one day, just to see how things are and get him involved
with some of the youth. He loved it and the 2 days following he went
all by himself to seminary! Cara, we both almost cried! He's so great!!
Super excited for him to be baptized this week, and see him progress in
the church!
Another
investigator we're working with and have marked for baptism this week
is "R". Another person we met Sunday night trying to finish things
for the week. He's great and we have already marked his baptism but its
really hard to find him in home. But we'll follow up with him this week
and hopefully everything works out to have the baptism this week!!
We
are also working with 2 families. One who is having a hard time,
struggling alot in their "marriage" they live together but arent married
yet. They're great and really curious about the church but they dont
want to get married and dont want to separate. Its really hard! and the
other family lost their son a few years ago and struggle a lot with the
idea that they think he is suffering still. We taught them the plan of
salvation and hopefully will be able to help them understand that he
isnt suffering and that they can one day have him sealed to them for
eternity!
The
work here is getting much better! But its still super super hard!
Lately, its been just my companion doing the work and I've been
struggling quite a lot. I know for a fact that a mission was never meant
to be easy, but i am starting to see more and more everyday that its
worth every tear, every struggle, every problem.
Love you guys so much!!
com amor,
Sister Moss

Mission Tour ft. Elder e Sister Costa!
Oí FamBam e amigos queridos!!
Beleza,
deste versículo me ajudou muito.
Realmente vale pena!! Este é obra do meu
Salvador, e juntos vamos ajudar nossas irmãos aceitam o evangelho!!
Amo vocês tanto!!!
Com amor,
Sister Moss

Hi FamBam and dear friends !!
Beauty, so this week was crazy but expensive was good too !! To begin, we have the Mission Tour with Elder Joaquin Costa and his wife! Dude they are cool !! A very special experience! First, we have (normal sisters) a lesson with Sister Costa and Sister Colleoni! The other missionaries were also separated. Elderes with President Colleoni and SLT's with LZ's with Elder Costa. I
learned a lot from Sister Costa and Sister Colleoni, talking about our
weaknesses and how they help us to be closer to the Lord. I really like something Sister Costa has said, that our weaknesses are good signs of approaching Christ. She shared Ether 12:27 which is very well known but dearly I learn something new every time from this scripture! Give a read, and really think about how this scripture can help you learn from your weaknesses! Then join again and learn a lot about our purpose and how we can help and seek our elect! Dude, that day was awesome! I will never forget!!
The next day Sister N. Souza had another conference with President
Colleoni and Elder Costa, so during this time I had an opportunity to
see people inside and work a little with Sister Morais, man she is too
good !!
This transference shows that I have much more difficulty talking to people. And actually doing the work I need to do! Really, I think I've lost focus these last few weeks. I
feel really bad because I know I'm not doing my part of the job ... I'm
focusing a lot this week, trying harder not to be afraid and to do the
things I called here to do! I
feel very bad with my efforts and really myself, and yesterday I was
reading Alma 38 and I read verse 8, right at the end of this verse
helped me a lot. And because of that, I know that God always answers our prayers! Always always always! I know that He loves me, that I am His daughter! I know that I have been called to do this work, the work of the Lord, and with His help I can do anything! I
know that a mission is not easy, but I know that my mission is going to
change my life and it has already changed my life enough! Really worth it !! This is the work of my Savior, and together we will help our brothers and sisters accept the gospel !!
I love you so much !!!
With love,
Sister Moss

Choral, ou Não
Hello my people!!! So this week had its ups and downs, but over all I'd
consider this week amazing!! To start off, I went to the doctors again
and need to go back again to see another specialist. Vai dar certo! I
hit 8 months in my mission and to celebrate we went out for açai with
the Elders. Haha it was super funny!!
The
following day we had our first district meeting with the new district.
Theres 4 sisters and 6 Elders in my district, and seriously this is the
funnest (I know this isn't a word) district so far! After the district
meeting 6 of us received money for lunch so we decided to go to lunch
together. haha its so fun getting to hang out with the other
missionaries! After lunch we wanted soda, but it was a huge rip off at
the resturant so we went to the store and bought a thing of coke to
share amongst the 6 of us. Went to find somewhere to sit and ended up in
front of our apartment complex. haha it was super fun!! Then we all
left and got to work (dont worry we are still working)! Later that night
we had been invited to sing with a small group of missionaries for a
fireside for the youth. Well long story short, we took the wrong bus
twice and missed our chance to sing (sorry mom!) seriously it was so
crazy! We were super sad that we missed our chance to sing but we got to
see some people that we havent seen in a while, so that was cool!
Everyday
this week we were working to visit our investigator who is ready for
baptism and finally on friday we caught her at home! Wooo! we taught her
the last lesson that she needed and invited her to be baptized again.
She accepted!!! Come Sunday, and her mom said no. So now we will have to
work a bit more with her mom. But she is an amazing kid and I know she
is ready for this next step!
On
saturday we (my companion, Elder Leite and Elder M. Alves) decided to
climb the dunes behind our apartments! guys it was sooooo cool!!!! so
pretty and so fun!!! After the dunes we went back home and got ready for
the day. Worked until 4 and then went to Nova Parnamirim (my last area)
because Elizete, one of the investigators I was teaching with sister
soares was getting baptized!! Guys I dont think I've been to a baptism
where I have felt the spirit as strongly as I did for Elizete! I know
without a doubt that she was ready and prepared for this day for
years!!!
This
week was super super good, regardless of its downs! I know that this is
the gospel of Jesus Christ, that he is at the head of this church! I
know that my calling as a representative of Jesus Christ is to find the
1, to leave the 99 to find the one who needs to come home! That as his
servant he is always on my side and will never leave me! I am so happy
to be a servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Love you all!!
Sister Moss
Português
Olá,
minha gente !!!
No
dia seguinte, tivemos a nossa primeira reunião distrital com o novo
distrito.
preocupe, ainda estamos funcionando)!
Wooo! nós ensinamos a ela a última
No
me deixar!

I have only four days here, and I do not have much to share with you today, but I want to bear my testimony to you:
I know this church is Christ's church, not a church of men but really the church of our Savior Jesus Christ! I know that He is always with us in all of our difficulties and also in moments of happiness. I know He suffered for each one of us, and bled from each pore personally for each of us. He lives! And He is our Savior! I am very grateful to serve and become a representative of it! I love this job and my Savior!
I love you, good week to everyone !!

Algo que Nunca Senti Na Minha Vida
Boa tarde gente!!! Então esta semana foi maravilhosa!!! Primeiramente,
Yes I started PT. my MRI showed that I have a little tear on my meniscus. I've had 3 sessions of PT and have just done shock stuff so far. also I will being going to the doctor a bit more now. I've had what i thought was just an ear infection for a while. it prevented me from hearing for almost 4 months so we went to the doctor again today to check it out. she said its a miracle that i dont have pain to my ear and stuff. apparently its more than just a normal ear infection. They asked me to ask you if any one in our family other than me has ear problems. so do we have someone else or am I just super special? I will be having lots of tests done in the next few weeks to find out just exactly what happened. I will be buying some meds today so if you see a big withdraw or purchase on the credit card its just medicine. I'll keep you updated on this medical stuff.
Primeiro
Ela estava tremendo, super fraca, e mal podia andar direto. No início

Here's the Google Translate version of Sister Moss's letter...
Good afternoon guys!!! So this week was wonderful !!! First, we see many small miracles this week and at the same time many hardships and distractions.
Distractions and difficulties first. I do not think I went to the hospital more in my life than I did this week. We went through the hospital or physical therapy every day this week. Usually the hospital is for me, but on Friday we went to another hospital for Sister Soares. She was shaking, super weak, and could barely walk straight. At first it was funny but then we went home to a family that we are teaching and she lost feelings in her hands! We quickly called a taxi and 20 minutes later were in the hospital. Apparently, she needs more food and water, lol! But every day, we went to the hospital, and lost a lot of time in the mornings to work and study.
But we had many miracles too !! Then first with miracles! We found so many wonderful people to teach and help! I want to share about a woman we are teaching to Elizete. Folks, seriously she's perfect, elected! She moved to our area and, sadly, literally has nothing. We're working on it! But she met one of our recent converts her first day here. This is the first miracle! After they met, we met the recent convert who gave us her address and we were immediately there! She was asking him many questions about the church, so our first lesson with her basically, we talked about everything! Prophets, baptism, temples, tithes, bishops, baptisms for the dead, literally everything! Miracle # 2! We found out that the recent convert is helping with food for her and stuff like that! Miracle # 3! The last miracle is my favorite! She went to church with us yesterday and she loved it !! She met the bishop and said that when she shook hands, she felt something she had never felt in her life before. Something so incredible and powerful!
I know what she felt was the Spirit testifying to her that really, bishop is a priesthood holder and called for God! I know she knows this is the church of Christ and it's true! I'm very excited to continue teaching her, and help her accept this plan in her life! She was and still is looking for this church!
Many miracles this week! WONDERFUL!!! I love you with all my heart !!

Extra News...

É me ajudou muito!
meu favorito!
secundo a gente tive gincana musical
mais!!
Eu amo vocês com todo meu coração!!!
Happy Halloween!!!!
com amor,
Sister Moss
ENGLISH
Okay,
then this week I'll write more! Firstly, we had zone meeting! I think
it was almost a year without zone meeting so that was really cool for
me! Just trainings and things like that, but it was time! I learned a
lot there! I think my favorite training was for Sister Hansen and Sister
Udagawa. Folks were inspired !! They teach us about the importance of
our standard and the things that keep us from our work. Focusing on the
things we can do to help us focus more on work and do not have bad
feelings or get caught up. It helped me a lot! Everything at the meeting
was very good, but this was my favorite!
secondly,
we had musical jeopardy per night of integration with our class. Dude
it was too funny !! They have a word for a song and we need to find the
music. Sister Soares won, man was on time !! I really love this class
and area !!
this week I'm learning how to
accept people's will. This is very difficult for me! I do not understand
why or how people can choose wrong when they know what is right. ugggh
!! my heart!!!
we
are working hard, and basically running to all of our commitments! if I
did not lose at least 3 kilos this week something is wrong !!! kkk but
we still have many people not willing to accept our message. is very
difficult! I know God is preparing people for us, but I do not feel that
we find them yet. or they are not prepared for all of the gospel yet. I
do not know. is it part?
I know this work is
not easy, it never will! But worth it! I am very grateful for my
opportunity to serve here now, with these missionaries! I'm learning a
lot here, things that are not possible to learn at home. Unique things
for a mission !! I love my mission and all of my difficulties, unless
they are too annoying !!
I love you with all my heart !!!
Happy Halloween !!!!
with love,
Sister Moss

Me desculpa!
So
sorry everyone, again I don't have a whole lot of time to tell you
everything that has happened this week. But I am alive, and learning so
much here!!
I have a small message for you all, and I promise that next week I'll do my best to write more!
To
be honest this message isn't mine, but I stole it from another
missionary. But I liked it a lot and it really got me thinking! I thought
I should share with all of you!
MOTIVE
CHANGES THE MANNER...so for example if you're fighting for fun, you´ll
probably quit after the first bruise. But if you´re fighting for your
life, you´ll keep trying even if you´re losing limbs. So if we always
keep a clear motive in mind, our manner will reflect that motive. And
one of the best motives we can have is the motive of charity. 1 Corinthians 13:4 explains that charity "suffereth long, and is kind".
Charity is the pure love of Christ...so if our motive is charity, our
manner will reflect Christ´s manner.
This
really got me thinking about the way I am fighting and the things I am
fighting for. Am I fighting to help people, to learn, or to grow with
everything that I am or am I giving up after the first few hits?
yesterday
bishop said something that really caught my attention. He was
explaining to people that we need to do more missionary work. And that
every opportunity we take to share the gospel gives us an opportunity to receive the answer "no". but if we keep trying someone is bound to say
yes. And that we need to keep trying regardless of the fact that we
already received a "no".
Both
of these things got me thinking about the way I am fighting to share
the gospel with people here. I know for a fact that after I have received so many "no's" in one day I just want to stop and go home. But
seriously that is the time that I need to keep fighting, keep trying and
eventually someone will say "yes".
Now I have a question for you guys to ponder for yourself.
How are you fighting?
Amo vocês com todo meu coração!!

We all Fall Down!!
So unfortunately I don't have a whole lot of time today, so I'll write in only English.
Sister Moss
Me-desculpe Brasileiras! Amo vocês!
But
this week has been fantastic!! Lately we've had a really hard time
meeting people but this week we met an eleita!!!! I don't remember the English word for this but she's perfect!! We were looking for her house, I
think 2 days after we made first contact with her and my goodness guys,
she lives basically at the end of the world!! It was nearly impossible
to find her house! We were searching and searching and getting really
discouraged that we couldn't find her, so we stopped and said a prayer.
When we finished praying, the first person we asked for information
asked if we had a place of reference or a name of the person. We told
them the name of our eleita, J, and she replied "there's literally
only one person that i know in this neighborhood with this name", she
pointed out the house to us and left us to discover on our own if it was
the right person. huge miracle because it was her house!!!
It was
pretty late so just noted where she lived and returned the following
day. It was probably the best lesson ever!! I felt most comfortable and
felt like the Spirit was really working through me! We taught about the
gospel of Jesus Christ and asked her to be baptized! She accepted!!!
Then we tried to mark her for a date too, usually we just ask people to
pray about it and then go back and mark a date, but this time we did
both!! We asked her if she wanted to be baptized on the 22 or the 28 and
told her that on these 2 dates we would have a reunião batismal. She
asked what exactly a reunião batismal is, and when we told her that on
which ever date she chose she would literally be baptized, I was really
scared that at that point she would say no, but she didn't!! She accepted
so quickly and chose a date!!! So we have a baptism coming up on the
28th!!! I'm super excited for her!!! we almost couldn't contain our joy
for her!
Also
this week was Friday the 13th and by the title you could probably guess
what happened! Well I'll tell you the story! So sister Soares and I
were walking home, and I don't know how it happened, i think my foot got
caught in a crack on the sidewalk and i twisted my foot but I tripped
and fell! Guys it was probably the funniest thing ever!!! We both couldn't stop laughing!! Haha seriously was too funny!! Luckily there weren't tons of people on the street at the time but the people that did
see were laughing too! and one kid yelled as we were leaving "it's better
to laugh at it than to cry!" haha so funny!!! Luckily I didn't hit my
bad knee too bad, but now I have two bad knees haha!
Speaking
of knees, I'll be starting physical therapy this week with one of the
other sisters! Should be good for me! Not super excited but I'd much
rather go through therapy than return home to you guys early! Not that I don't love and miss you all with all my heart, but I don't want to leave
here!! Oh that reminds me, I cant believe that I've already been out 7
months!!!! guys 7 months!!! That's almost half way done!!! Where is the
time going????
Other
than all this not much else happened, we had interviews with Presidente
but for most of my interview we talked about my knee. He also thought
that i had only 5 months here. To be honest I feel like that's all the
time i have but no, i have 7 months!!!!
Guys
I want you all to know how much I love and miss all of you guys!!! I
know that God is always looking out for us and helping and assisting in
literally everything we do!! We watched a video yesterday in church and I
want to leave a quote from the video with you guys.
Not
word for word, but it was a video about Fathers. And in part of it, it
compared our Fathers and parents in general on earth with our Heavenly
Father. It said something along the lines that when we're kids we trust
100% in our parents. 100%! And it made the comparison that even though
we're grown, we still need to trust in our Heavenly Father with 100% of
everything we have. Because He is in charge of everything, and just like
our parents on earth, He will take care of us and protect us with every
fiber of His being!!
I love you guys so much!!!! Hope you all have a fantastic week!!
