Workng so hard!

I cant believe I'll be home in 4 weeks! Its crazy!! I'm beyond excited to hug all of you but super sad to leave here... buuuut I think I'm a little bit more excited than sad so thats awesome!!

This week has been really really good!! we're working really really hard, probably more than i have my whole mission. Its insane. I know that the work I'm doing and the effort i'm putting in are not my efforts. but power and help from the Lord, if it were up to my carnal body and my carnal mind I'd be sleeping everyday until lunch and then a nap afterwards. I'm tired beyond compare. but somehow I seem to be able to get the work done! its incredible!

Questions and answers...

Do the members ever ask about your family? What do you tell them about your life at home?
Everyone asks about the family, I always show pictures and explain about the kiddos. They don't usually ask about life at home, generally, just about you guys. Which I guess counts as life at home! haha. But yeah.

Do you dream in Portuguese?
Yes I dream in Portuguese haha and sometimes English too. Depends who is in my dreams I think.

Who are you teaching?
We're teaching a lot of people, and most of them are references now which in my experience works much much better!! (than knocking door and street contacting)

love you so so much!!!

Love,

I kind of have a greenie!!!

This week was awesome! So Sister Barlow (Sister Ribeiro's greenie) got here this week straight from the CTM!! She's from Washington and is super super cute!! Love her so much already!! Sister Ribeiro is from São Carlos, São Paulo and is amazing too!!! love them so so much. I really feel like Sister Barlow is my daughter (greenie) too! We are always laughing it's insane! haha but really really awesome!

The area is huge!!! The ward seems really awesome! I don't know very many people yet but they all seem awesome! We have lots and lots of investigators right now! who are also super awesome haha! I don't have much time to explain more about them, but we're working on helping a few people get married and really just helping people feel more ready for this step.

It was a really good week, Sister Barlow killed it this week. She speaks so well already!! She's a little shy but that's usually how it is when we start. It's weird, this week I've seen myself do so many things that I never thought I could do. It's amazing what a mission does to you haha!

Sorry it's short today, keep those questions for next week and I'll answer them then.

love you so much!!! 5 weeks!!!!

ONLY 6 MORE WEEKS!!!!!

Well everyone, this is it! Last transfer!!! Last 6 weeks in the best mission in the whole universe!!! I'm beyond excited to return home and hug my family but my heart breaks at the thought of leaving my family here in Brazil, literally break my heart. I've loved this place and it has become my home here.

BUUUT I still have 6 more weeks of hard work! So to start off, I've been transferred from Panatis to the literal city of Natal! I will finish my mission, literally in Natal!!! WOOOOO!!!! As sad as I am to leave my family in Panatis, I am so so excited to work in Natal. My new companions are Sister Ribeiro and her daughter (her greenie). We don't even know who it is yet but it'll be awesome!!!! I'm super super excited!

For the last week in Panatis we had a ward party, which was awesome!!! and Tia Lourdes, who has been a "member" for 6 years and she finally decided to get baptized!! Yesterday was her 79th birthday, and we celebrated with her baptism!!! So so awesome guys! Cried my eyes out haha! It was incredible! Love love love her, and feel so privileged to have been there to share her sweet sweet day with her. It was an incredible way to end my 3 transfers there.

Beyond this, not much has happened. I'll update more this week, lots of changes!

Love you all so so much!

Headed to the beach - can't touch the water!

Oh my goodness!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the pics!!! I'm crying here because I miss you all so much and really wanted to be there with y'all. Just missing Kade and I.... uggghhh!!! glad you all got to be together and have such a fun time!!! Looks awesome!!

These past few weeks have been rough. One of our investigators passed away. It looks like she had a heart attack... super super sad. We've been traumatized, she never leaves our minds.
Also, our other baptism that was marked for Saturday fell through... ugh, she's 100% ready for this step, but wants her mom's support. her mom said she could get baptized but she doesn't support the idea. and that really messed with her. she wants to get baptized but wants moms support. that makes sense, it does. but sometimes the support comes afterwards when she sees that it really is something she wants. I can't get her off my mind, I really want to see her take this step of faith, but I think she has a lot of fear. I'm not sure how I can help her.... I can tell you right now, that it's because of her that I stayed her one more transfer, she's my friend here. I'm trying everything in my power to help her but i don't know if it's enough.. please keep her in your prayers this week and that her mom can learn to support her.

Beyond this there's not much going on. we'll have a baptism this week. a little old lady who has been going to church for 6 years and finally decided that she wanted to get baptized! Super super excited for her!

Things are great, my companions are great! Yes sister Lima goes home next week. I think I'll get transferred next week and possibly go to an area called Patos. which is really really far. its actually in João Pessoa. if i get transferred there it'll be really hard to say my goodbyes. but I'll definitely say goodbye to Tia Lu.

Last week we just went to play soccer with the elders. today we're going to the beach again. I'm getting tired of going to the beach every week and not be able to touch the water haha!

that's about it for me haha. not much else!

love you so so much !!!
Love,
Sister Moss

A Vacina da Influenza

Hellooo people!! Hope everyone is doing well!

So a quick recap of my week! to start the week off, Sister Lima was a little sick and that made it a little difficult to work, but in the end everything worked out.

We got some good work done, but wasn't a whole lot... then we had zone conference, which went really well! Usually I don't like conferences too much but it went really well. We learned a lot about how to work with members to help with missionary work. It was really cool to hear and learn a bit more. I don't think I ever really noticed the importance the members are in missionary work. But they (we) are the key point. I'm learning exactly what kind of member I need to be when I get home, to more effectively help the missionary work.

At conference it was mandatory that we all get a flu shot, which isn't too bad. buuut the worst part was that after the shot we all had symptoms of the flu. We all got sick, it was horrible. we got home after the conference and pretty much died . it was so rough. we're all doing better today but it was horrible.

Beyond this we didn't do a whole lot this week, we had 3 investigators at church with us and hopefully we'll have a baptism here soon. Lucas is progressing really well, and is totally ready to take this next step! Fingers crossed that everything works out for him!

Love you all,
Sister Moss

Falta pouco gente!!

Hey everyone, so I dont have a whole lot to tell you guys this week. Its been a busy week of work as usual. It rained a bunch this week which makes everything just that much harder. Buuuut it went well this week! We were able to take 8 investigators to church with us, which is always awesome. We're hoping that here in the next 2 weeks we'll be able to baptize a few of the people that went to church with us.

We're teaching a really awesome family. We met them because one of the young woman in our ward is dating the son in this family. He's been going to church with her for a few weeks and stuff, but we always thought he was more interested in her than learning anything at church. Turns out, we were waaaaaay wrong! He's awesome! He has so many questions and is so willing to complete the things we ask him (such as pray, read the book of mormon, go to church) . His name is Lucas and he's super chilll. We met his mom this week, and she told us shes catholic and will think about what we taught them. she said she would pray about it and if she recieves an answer that the things we're teaching are true she'd be baptized. which makes our hearts and the heart of our Heavenly Father very very happy! They're a great family, I hope we'll be able to help them more in the next few weeks.

beyond this, theres not much news! We're guaranteed a baptism on the 15 of July. Theres a woman here who has been going to church for 6 years. And for the first time in 6 years she has finally said she wants to be baptized. But only on the 15 of July, her birthday!!! She's the sweetest thing, we all call her Tia (aunt), and I love her so much! I know that she is the reason I stayed here in Panatis. I just know it!

To finish my email, my mom sent me a question this week and I think its appropriate to send to you all.

So the question was this:

Why did you go on a mission AND why do you think Heavenly Father needed you in Brazil? Have you done what He’s asked you to do?

To be honest, my answer isnt something huge. I chose to go on a mission because in my house it was always something taught. For as long as I can remember it was always something I wanted to do. It was always the biggest desire of my heart to be a missionary. And growing up I saw my cousins, my friends, and my brother go on missions. Seeing the struggles to go, or the struggles within the mission but no one, literally no one giving up. To me missionaries are super heroes. Especially the missionaries I've known in my life. I couldn't tell you why Heavenly Father sent me here beyond the fact that he knows everything. He knows the people I needed to meet and to help. And I sure dang hope I've done all he wanted me too. I'm waaaaay far from perfect, but I try my very best everyday to be the missionary he needs me to be and the missionary the people here in Natal need.

I know with all my heart that this is a sacred calling from God. That I'm here right now because he needs me here. I need to be here. I couldn't imagine this last year and 3 months in another place. Brazil is my home away from home, my second family. And I am so eternally grateful for my mission. For the difficulties I'ved experienced, the amazing people I've met and the things I've learned here.

Love you all so so much!!!
