I'm going to Kill my Companion!!

Pronto! Oi familia!

First off, we had transfers! I'm still here in Nova Parnamirim but I have a new companion! Her name is Sister Mylla!! Shes 20 years old and is from São Paulo! Oh and shes dying... Meaning this is her last transfer on the mission and I get the privilege of "killing" her! Super excited for this transfer with her!! She's already helped me so much!! How do I get so lucky with my companions??

Last week we had a BBQ with part of our zone and it was super super fun! The elders did a good job cooking for us! Tons of people, food, soda and sports. It's my dream day, guys!!!

This week also has been really difficult to get in to teach people. It's been really frustrating. I know it's part of the mission but I really wish it wasn't. I just want people to learn about Jesus and choose to accept his light and love in their life. What's so wrong about that? Why don't they see the importance?

Mas realmente, without much teaching I don't have a whole lot to share with you guys. Sister Mylla is amazing and super trunky (excited to go home) but that's okay! I love her so much already. I feel like I knew her before which is super sweet!

Today we are having a Pday de distrito and having café da manha americano!! super excited!!!

Sorry its super short today everyone! Know that I love you all so much and so does our Savior and Father in Heaven! They are always by our side in every moment! Don't forget to turn to them in hours of need and hours of blessings! I love you all with all my heart and hope you all have an amazing week!!

Com amor,
Sister Moss

p.s. oh! good news! it's way easier to speak Portuguese than English now!! Woooo!!

Mawwiage, Mawwiage is What Brings us Togewah Today!!

Haha hey y'all!! So if you couldn't tell by the title we had a wedding and a baptism this week!! A cute little family!! R, J and J!

I've decided all I need is a temple wedding because all the other stuff is too much work!! You're welcome dad!

No but seriously the wedding was fantastic!! So of course with any wedding and pretty much anything in life we had our difficulties. First off, J's dress wouldn't close. And we tried I think 3 other dresses that didn't work. The day of the wedding I don't know how but the dress zipped and she looked absolutely stunning! Second, J works with one of the members in our ward and they're really close. Well the day before the wedding the member was working on wedding stuff and tripped and fractured her nose. They almost cancelled the wedding and baptism so she could be there. R forgot the papers to sign when they got married. Literally anything that could have happened to prevent this wedding and baptism basically happened.

But, God always prevails and the wedding was incredible and the baptism beautiful!!

Most of our week was filled with wedding planning and making sure everything was done and ready for the big day. So we didn't do a whole lot of teaching this week, but the teaching we did get done was really good. Real good quality lessons with real good quality investigators!

Oh this week I went to the hospital. People here get so preoccupied with little things it's funny. So on Thursday my toe started to hurt while i was walking and if you know me I didn't really think much of it. It's only one toe, I have 9 others right? Well Friday morning when I woke up it hurt still, and was super swollen. One of the sisters thought it was broken and called President Colleoni. Needless to say, within 30 minutes President and Sister Colleoni were in my area to pick me up and take me to the hospital! It's not broken. haha!

I know with all my heart that this is the true restored gospel here on the earth! That Jesus Christ suffered, died and rose again for every single one of us, to give us the opportunity to work and live with him again after this life! That by and through Him we can all have eternal life!! I love this work and feel beyond honored to assist in helping my brothers and sisters gain this knowledge and truth for themselves.

Love you all! Hope you all have an amazing week!

Oh and this week is transfers!! I'll let you all know what happens next week! This transfer was great and I learned so much with Sisters Camilio and Nobre! Feel very lucky with the companions that I have had thus far!!

okay byyyee!!

com amor,

I don't remember English...or Portuguese???

Este é exatamente onde Ele me precisa.

Sister Moss

OH! Parabéns Parker e Jordan!! Muito feliz para vocês! <3

Here's the Google Translate (English) version of Sister Moss's email...

Hi people!

So my President challenged me to speak only Portuguese, not English. Good luck!!

But, this week was a bit difficult for me with the language. Not with understanding but to speak. Twice I completely forgot everything! For lessons I struggled to speak and remember any words. Too hard for me. It was painful ... and it was also very difficult to find people at home .. It was difficult this week.

But it's part of a mission right?

But I'll keep going, you know?

This week we have 3 baptisms and a wedding! A family!! Very excited! They know a lot and are so strong in the church already. It's incredible!

The rest of our researchers are good! Making progress, and finally visiting church with us!

I do not have much to tell you, but I have a testimony about this work. I know with all my heart that this is the work of the Lord! Even if it's difficult, I know it's worth every challenge. That I'm never alone. I know that my Savior has called me to serve here with these missionaries and to serve these people with all my heart. This is exactly where He needs me. I know this is the church of Christ, that He established the church here on earth for us. That He is our Savior and He has given us a very special gift, the Atonement! And he wants us to use this gift every day. He suffered for each one of us, and because of him we have the opportunity to live with Him and God again! I love Him with all that I am.

I love you with all my heart!

Good week to you!

With love,

Sister Moss

OH! Congratulations Parker and Jordan !! Very happy for you! <3

Dificuldades, e Milagres Sempre Sequem

Olá a todos!!!

Então esta semana foi ótimo!!!

So this week has been super great, and full of miracles and difficulties, (normal). First off, difficult for me because I've had tons of pain in my knee and its been really swollen, really scary for me. I don't want my knee to affect the way I work. But the pain got bad enough that I actually pulled out my brace. Right now, its good. Very little pain and the swelling has gone down. Milagre!!

The language is getting easier. I struggle with conjugating the verbs and stuff but other than that I feel comfortable speaking. I struggle still with understanding but its getting better.

Our investigators are progressing really well!! We have maybe 6-8 people on date for baptism for the next 2 weeks, and a wedding next week!! Super excited! Yesterday we saw so many little miracles. It was incredible! First off, we called basically all our investigators to see if they'd be able to make it to church, and literally everyone told us no. After lunch we got a call that one of our investigators changed their mind and would go to church if we got a car to pick her up. We picked her up with her 2 kiddos, and went to church. 5 minutes into sacrament meeting a family of recent converts walked in with their sister who told us no. Little miracles but amazing!

This week I've been studying a bit on faith, and I love the scripture Ether 12:6 e fala sequinte:
6 And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.
I have seen this scripture applied directly to my mission this week. We always, always always always will have problems and difficulties in our lives. This is normal to our life on Earth. But God always promises blessings after we endure our trials. We will receive a testimony or strengthen the testimony we have after we have shown our dedication and faith and have done our part in enduring our trials. I know this to be true!
Also this week Sister Camilio and I were on our way to an appointment and a lady pulled up next to us in her car and offered us a ride. We were almost to the house so we declined and kept walking. she stopped next to us again and handed us chocolate and had us pick a quote out of a bag of quotes she had. I pulled mine out and it was a scripture which helped me a lot this week. Psalms 23:4
Yea, though walk through the valley of the shadow of deathwill fear no evilfor thou art with me;
What a miracle? We have challenges every day, but we can overcome all things and have no need to fear because the Lord is always with us! He overcame the world, and because of him we can overcome our trials too!
Love you all so much and hope you all have an incredible week!!
Com todos de meu amor,
Sister Moss
